Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and EntryDock Inc. By using Mettle, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Mettle.

Who may use Mettle

You must be at least 13 to create an account. If the law where you live requires parental consent at an older age, you must have that consent. You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms.

Your account

Give us accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if someone uses your account without permission. Your user name is public. Do not choose a name that impersonates someone, violates another person’s rights, or includes abuse. You remain responsible for activity on your account.

On Reddit, your Reddit account is your Mettle identity. Reddit’s terms and community rules also apply. Mettle does not create a separate account or password for Reddit play.

Permission to use Mettle

We give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Mettle for lawful, non-commercial play under these terms. You may not copy, sell, rent, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, or redistribute Mettle except where law allows it.

Rules of play

Do not cheat, automate play, tamper with scores, probe or disrupt the service, bypass access controls, upload harmful code, harass others, or use Mettle in a way that breaks the law. We may remove scores, restrict access, or close accounts when needed to protect Mettle or other players.

Content and feedback

Mettle’s software, design, questions, text, images, marks, and other content belong to EntryDock Inc. or its licensors and are protected by law. Third-party names and marks belong to their owners.

If you send round feedback, a suggestion, or other feedback, you let us use it without payment or restriction to run and improve Mettle. Do not send material you lack the right to share.

If you choose to post a score or discussion comment on Reddit, you direct Mettle to publish it from your Reddit account. Your post or comment is subject to Reddit’s terms and the community’s rules. You remain responsible for any text you add.

Trivia results

We work to make questions and answers accurate, but trivia content can contain errors or become out of date. You can rate a round from its score screen or contact support. Scores, ranks, and rewards have no cash value. We may correct content, recalculate or remove scores, and reset parts of the game when needed to fix errors or abuse.

Purchases

Mettle is free at present. If we add paid features, we will show the price and terms before purchase. Apple App Store or Google Play rules will govern billing, cancellation, and refunds for purchases made through those stores. Taxes may apply. Unless the offer says otherwise, digital items have no cash value and cannot be transferred.

Third-party services

Mettle relies on services from companies such as Apple, Google, Google Cloud, Reddit, and our email provider and may link to outside sources. Their services and content follow their own terms. We do not control outside services and are not responsible for them.

Changes and availability

We may add, change, suspend, or end features. We may also update these terms. We will post the new terms here and change the effective date. If a change is material, we will give any notice required by law. Your continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept them.

Ending your account

You may stop using Mettle at any time and may delete your account from Settings. See our account deletion page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or creates risk for Mettle or others. Sections that by their nature should continue after account closure will remain in effect.

In the Reddit game, deleting your Mettle data removes Mettle’s stored game records and links to your Reddit posts and comments. It does not delete content held by Reddit. Use Reddit’s controls to delete that content.

Disclaimers

To the extent law allows, Mettle is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that it will always work, remain error-free, or meet every need. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. These disclaimers do not limit rights that law does not allow you to waive.

Limits on liability

To the extent law allows, EntryDock Inc. and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for claims about Mettle will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for Mettle in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

Applicable United States federal law and the laws of the State of Delaware govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and EntryDock Inc. agree that state and federal courts in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Nothing here takes away consumer rights that the law where you live gives you.

General terms

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it as part of a merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of Mettle. These terms and the Privacy Policy form the full agreement between you and EntryDock Inc. about Mettle.
